Many Omnify modules require a valid license for usage. Omnify licenses are floating licenses and are managed within the database. When a user invokes Omnify Desktop, OmniBOM or any other licensed product, that product will check for an available license.

License Request Process
When a licensed product is invoked, the tool will request a license from the Omnify License Pool. The Database will validate the user and check the available licenses for the requested license. If a license is available, the database will grant a license token to the application and remove one from the available pool.
An Omnify license file will be provided by Omnify Software. If you do not have one, contact Omnify at 978.988.3800 or support@omnifysoft.com.

The License file (.olf file) can be loaded into the database using the Omnify License Monitor, which is installed with the server installation. When the Omnify Server is installed, the user will select a virtual directory where all Omnify Server Applications and Services will be installed.

Once the Server installation is complete, you can visit the Omnify Server Home Page using any Web browser with the URL: http://[Server Name]/[Omnify Virtual Directory] (e.g. http://omnifyserver/Omnify5).

To install a license, invoke the License Monitor from the Omnify Server Home Page.

Note:
After installing the Omnify Server, the Web Applications and Services must be configured for the correct server and database. Refer to the Server Installation and Setup Guide for more information on installing and configuring the Omnify Web Applications and Services.

The License Monitor will require you to login with a valid Omnify User Name and Password. To install licenses using the License Monitor, you will need to specify a user with Administrative permission.

Note: a default user is created for every database (User name: admin, Password: admin)

The License Monitor will display the currently used licenses and the available licenses.

To view available license select the License Information tab.

To load a license, select the Load License File button.

You can browse for the license file, by selecting the Browse button.

To install the licenses, click the Load License File button.

Licenses that have been checked out by users can be "released" by an admin level user within the License Monitor.

To release a license(s) select the License Usage tab on the License Monitor.

To release a license, check the checkbox in the Actions column of the License Usage list.

Next, click the Release Licenses button.

You will be asked to verify the operation.
