Welcome to the Omnify Data Importer User's Guide.
The Omnify Data Importer can be used to create and update Omnify objects from various data sources, such as:
| • | Microsoft SQL Server Databases |
| • | Microsoft Access Databases |
| • | Microsoft Excel Files |
| • | OmniBOM Files (.obx) |
| • | Text/ASCII Files |
The Omnify Data Importer will be used by a qualified Omnify Software Application Engineer to create your initial database as well as update data as needed.
The Omnify Data Importer requires access permission for users (defined in the Omnify Administrator).
Access permission provides only basic functionality (updating data on existing items).
Licensing options can be provided by Omnify to enable additional functionality such as creating new objects and BOMs, uploading documents, etc.
The Omnify Data Importer will create and update objects directly in the Omnify database.
Once the import is complete, you cannot "undo" any changes.
Omnify requires that you perform a full database backup before all Importer sessions.
